TOMLINSON WASTE RECOVERY CENTRE

Recycle your construction debris and waste materials at Ottawa’s new state-of-the-art facility.
Making it easy for you to do the right thing for the environment.

ABOUT THE CENTRE

In a market where builders, businesses and homeowners continue to embrace sustainability and environmentally conscious concepts like LEED and BOMA BESt, the Tomlinson Waste Recovery Centre makes it easier for everyone to do their part in protecting the environment.

The Tomlinson Waste Recovery Centre combines a state-of-the-art construction and demolition recycling facility, a traditional blue and black box processing facility, an electronics and appliances recycling depot and a waste transfer station for any material that can’t be recovered. The result is a single destination and environmental resource for the local construction industry, businesses and home owners tackling their own renovation, construction or cleanup projects.

Construction and Demolition Facility

With almost 20 years of experience in recycling construction materials, the single stream C&D facility has been designed and built to support recycling and recovery efforts for all manner of construction materials.

Businesses and homeowners will benefit from the ease of placing all their construction waste in one container and the confidence that the Centre will sort and reclaim materials, ensuring reusable materials are being diverted from landfills.

Materials Recovery Facility

Blue box recycling has been available to residential and commercial customers at the Waste Recovery Centre for over twenty years. We are the original West Ottawa recycling processor and helped introduce recycling to the area. Our dual stream sorting system is the same as your curbside service, and our equipment is designed to process mixed paper loads and mixed container loads. We specialize in commercial recycling and can provide services for any size of business. We also specialize in source separated cardboard recycling at no charge, and you can bring in your electronics for free!

Waste Transfer Station

For any material that cannot be recycled through our other on site facilities, we operate a transfer station to transport residual waste to a licensed landfill. The Transfer Station can be used by the general public as well as large commercial customers. It is easy to use for small loads in a trailer or the back of a truck and open on Saturdays.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Construction waste ranges from cut ends of 2×4’s to brick to pipes. Think about what happens when a house is taken down – all that material is considered construction waste and most of it can be recovered.

Because the Tomlinson Waste Recovery Centre also has a Materials Recycling Facility (MRF), a Transfer Station as well as the Construction and Demolition (C&D) Facility we can accept almost all solid non-hazardous waste.

No! You can bring it as is and our team will sort the material. If you separate your construction waste from household waste you will get a better rate.

Once onsite you will be directed to the scale and our team will guide you from there.

Absolutely! Call us at 613-820-2332 to arrange it.

Costs depend on the material. See our rates for details.

Traditional dumps or landfills bury waste. The Tomlinson Waste Recovery Centre diverts material from landfills that still has a use and does not need to be buried. This extends the life of landfill assets and protects our natural resources.

We can provide the reporting required to show a builders commitment to green building programs such as BOMA BEST and LEED.
